The presentation explored bottom-up models of collective governance of commons, rooted in a personalist reinterpretation of property rights and their inherent social function. In Italy, the management of so-called "common goods" is highly fragmented and varies significantly from region to region. These initiatives often rely on cooperation pacts established through municipal regulations; however, in some cases, communities have opted for forms of collective self-governance instead of shared management. These experiences—frequently driven by grassroots groups and artistic collectives—offer compelling examples of participatory urban regeneration. They challenge the traditional public-private divide and emphasize the community’s central role in managing resources collectively and inclusively.
