Questo libro nasce in occasione di una cena condivisa durante un convegno tenutosi presso il Politecnico di Bari, in cui si discuteva del rapporto tra Teoria e Progetto. Ne è scaturita questa ‘definizione’ – il progetto affermativo –, diventata ora il titolo di questo lavoro collettivo, con la quale si intende sostenere che il progetto di architettura è sempre una scelta e un posizionamento critico, e mai constatativo, nei confronti della realtà che ci sta di fronte. [...] questo piccolo libro scritto a sei mani, nel suo complesso e per le tesi e gli esempi che offre all’attenzione del lettore, vuole riaffermare che la difficile ricerca della chiarezza – che ancora una volta «aspira ad una chiarità di aspetto e ad una chiarità di idea» – vada assunta come l’obiettivo necessario e ineliminabile del nostro lavoro. This book was tought on the occasion of a dinner during a conference held at the Polytechnic of Bari, in which the relationship between Theory and Project was discussed. This ‘definition’ of affirmative project, which has now become the title of this collective work, there emerged and with which we intend to argue that the architectural project is always a choice and a critical, never declarative, positioning related to the reality that is before us. [...] this small book written with multiple hands, as a whole and due to the theses and examples offered to the readers, aims to reaffirm that the difficult research for clarity – that again «aspires to a clarity of aspect and of idea» – has to be assumed as the necessary and unvoidable goal of our work.
