Heritage preservation and promotion requires the organisation of appropriate knowledge processes, oriented to built environment suitability for transformations, users’ needs definition, vocations analysis. A cultural debate among technicians, specialists and researchers, has taken into account the aims, structures, opportunities of knowledge processes for built environment heritage. Special attention is given to connections between buildings and liveable environments, to mutual consequences in designing new scenarios involving different scales.
