Abstract

“The splenomegaly: is FNC useful?P.ZeppaThe spleen may be interested by focal lesions or diffuse splenomegalies of unclear origin. The dramatic improvements of non invasive diagnostic techniques has dramatically reduced the need of direct investigations, nonetheless there are focal lesions or splenomegalies that, because of their rarity or peculiar presentation, still need such these investigations. Fine needle aspiration biopsies of the spleen (sFNAB) has been used for the diagnosis of these lesions and represents an useful alternative to the diagnostis splenectomy.
