A semantic evaluation approach for extracting relevant information from document collections.

The semantic relevance of a document is usyally caught by the term frequency inverse document frequency. The main purpose of this paper is to propose a strategy for the semantic evaluation of the index terms thus extracted in order to ensure a good correspondence between the information searched for and the information retrieved. A System is therefor suggested that allows the assessment of the quality of the peculiar lexicon extracted.
