Secondary School as well as University of Naples are nominating themselves as cultural promoters to ensure vitality and grant resources about our territory’s culture. They are leading, within an open discussion between research and quality territorial project, an educational plan in order to safeguard and enhance the immaterial heritage. The Polytechnic Secondary School “Marie Curie” and the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Naples “Federico II” have performed an important initiative aimed either to test a language able to reveal the knowledge of old tradition and crafts to a broader public or supporting tangible action to witness concrete effort to protect them. The achievement of a document about one of the older and most original religious and popular tradition of our territory: the worship of the Madonna della Neve, in Ponticelli, district east of Naples, can be considered a typical pattern of an act striving as research, protect and knowledge of the immaterial heritage. This has also been approved by various institutions particularly by the IDEA (Istituto Centrale for DemoEtnoAntropologia). Attention has been paid by Regione Campania and Provincia of Napoli too. Moreover agencies and institution have recognized this document as a demonstration model and witness of the immaterial heritage in compliance with the UNESCO’s directives, as well as providing an important support in behalf of the difficult work of cataloguing and preservation of such heritage which has seen an increasing of interest in last years.
