The excavations of the last five years in Tell Barri/Kahat have added new relevant data on the chronological development of the site. In particular, new researches in the south side of the tell show that the village has not been abandoned during the big crisis of the Akkadian power: at the beginning of the IImillennium the settlement expands, and not rare are imports from Babylonia. During the II millennium Tell Barri' inhabitants adopt new life'styles, according to the important political changes known from other sites, and literary tradition, as we can see in the houses organization, and in the characteristics of implements, furniture, ,etc.
