A new photovoltaic module made of solar cells encapsulated in polymeric matrices is described. The encapsulation system utilizes polymers of the acrylate family which have different thermal and mechanical properties. Preliminary physical characterization of these systems suggest that these materials can economically encapsulate photovoltaic modules.
