ForcedLoans - Forced loans and Sovereign Debt Crises in Europe

This project consists of an empirical research of Social Science in the fields of Economic and Financial history. Its principal aim is illustrating the evolution of the fiscal and financial situations of some European countries involved, in different times and in more recurrent forms, in the sovereign debt crises and in the forced loans policy, or similar measures, from the fifteenth century to date. One of the project focuses is the analysis the causes and the effects, in the short and long run, of the forced loans policy, offering the historiography and the political institutions different issues to discuss about the implications (positive and negative) of this extreme measure in the history, considering the different states traditions and the different historical, financial and political contexts that stimulated this measure.
