The site chosen for the new Federal Building in Turin presents apparently simple conditions, but with inherent complexities: the large urban axes, the concluded shape of the blocks, the structures of the courts. In this articulate system, the project for the new Federal Building becomes an opportunity to let this new piece of the city grow and evolve at different times, in different ways, responding to unexpected needs. Defining two open and extended courts, the project inserts into the existing fabric making clear and understandable action which will generate special conditions on the boundaries and within them a new sense of urbanity. With great attention to the economic, social and environmental sustainability of the intervention, the federal building would become a new urban infrastructure, offering not only new uses, but also new spaces.
