A low-cost and low-power agroclimatic station is presented in this work to overcome the cost limitation of traditional stations. Moreover, the proposed station can be moved easily, which is useful for temporary deployments aimed to tune the parameters of a model-based simulation such as a pest risk model. A first evaluation of the proposed station is presented, and the results, although still incomplete, are quite promising also to monitor new locations in which a tuned model can run using detailed agroclimatic data.

Abstract

A low-cost and low-power agroclimatic station is presented in this work to overcome the cost limitation of traditional stations. Moreover, the proposed station can be moved easily, which is useful for temporary deployments aimed to tune the parameters of a model-based simulation such as a pest risk model. A first evaluation of the proposed station is presented, and the results, although still incomplete, are quite promising also to monitor new locations in which a tuned model can run using detailed agroclimatic data.
