The paper concerns the evaluation of the seismic behaviour of a mixed reinforced concrete - masonry building placed on Ischia Island that was affected by the August 2017 earthquake. Firstly, after a brief introduction regarding the main vulnerabilities of this structure, the attention is focused on the description of the main characteristics of the seismic event occurred on the island. Then, the case study is introduced with illustration of its structural features and earthquake crack patterns. Once this knowledge phase is depicted, static non - linear analyses are carried out using a Frame by Macro - Elements approach. Two scenarios for the analyses are defined: the first one using only seismic horizontal forces and the second one taking into account also the vertical component of accelerations. Finally, after pushover analyses are conducted for each case, the comparison between real damages observed on the edifice and numerical ones is done with the purpose to estimate the accuracy of the software in predicting the seismic damages.

Abstract
Finally, after pushover analyses are conducted for each case, the comparison between real damages observed on the edifice and numerical ones is done with the purpose to estimate the accuracy of the software in predicting the seismic damages.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
