Faciano is located north of Grotte di Castro (VT), in a plateau area about 5 km away from the northern shore of Bolsena Lake. The first research at Faciano dates back to 2018, when an extensive scatter site containing Bronze Age ceramic fragments was found during an archaeological survey. In September 2023 a team of the University of Naples Federico II carried out an archaeological excavation campaign in the Faciano area, confirming the existence of archaeological layers relating to a small protohistoric settlement, which can be preliminary dated back to the Early Bronze Age.

Abstract
Faciano is located north of Grotte di Castro (VT), in a plateau area about 5 km away from the northern shore of Bolsena Lake. The first research at Faciano dates back to 2018, when an extensive scatter site containing Bronze Age ceramic fragments was found during an archaeological survey. In September 2023 a team of the University of Naples Federico II carried out an archaeological excavation campaign in the Faciano area, confirming the existence of archaeological layers relating to a small protohistoric settlement, which can be preliminary dated back to the Early Bronze Age.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
