This paper presents the preliminary results of the archaeological survey conducted in October 2024 in the territory of Gradoli (Lazio, VT) by the Department of Humanities of the University of Naples Federico II. The investigation is part of a broader research program carried out within the framework of the PRIN PNRR Project ASH-Archaeological Investigation of Soil Heritage. The ASH Project adopts a multidisciplinary approach to explore the role of volcanic soils in the emergence and development of complex and long-lasting settlement systems from the Neolithic to the Late Antiquity across four selected areas of the Italian Peninsula: the Poro Plateau (Calabria), Lake Bolsena (Lazio), the central Campanian Plain (Campania), and the Catania Plain (Sicily). This research, starting from the systematic collection of legacy data and integrating it with the results of new field research, is bringing to light in the investigated areas an almost continuous sequence of human activities from late prehistory through antiquity.
