East-West migration in Europe since the beginning of 90s with some remarks on the CADSES Area

The aim of this contribution is to outline a picture, as realistic as possible, of the East-West migrations situation inside the European continent over the last 10-15 years, giving a great attention to the flows and to the population of foreign stock concerning the CADSES area. At this end the official data of the countries of destination represents the main source of information without however overlooking the limits that the systems of survey has met over the last years in recording the new territorial types of mobility, lesser and lesser traceable to the classic definitive migrations or to longer term ones. *** Obiettivo del contributo è tracciare un quadro il più possibile realistico sulle migrazioni est-ovest all’interno del continente europeo negli ultimi 10-15 anni, ponendo maggiore attenzione ai flussi e agli stock di popolazione straniera riguardanti l’area CADSES. A tale scopo ci si è avvalsi principalmente dei dati ufficiali dei paesi di destinazione, senza però trascurare i limiti che i sistemi di rilevazione hanno incontrato negli ultimi anni nel registrare nuove forme di mobilità territoriale, sempre meno riconducibili alle classiche migrazioni definitive o a lungo termine.
