In the present work authors relate a methodology developed to execute maintainability tests of complex assemblies in Virtual Reality. Different approaches have been analyzed, described and compared in the paper. The main goal of the work was to draw up a methodical approach in order to perform disassembly, accessibility and manipulability analyses in semi-immersive virtual environment of complex mechanical systems. The method is based on a direct manual interaction: user in charge of the maintenance task can interact directly with the virtual model of the product by means of special devices. The tests were carried out in three complete Virtual Reality environments, realized by the authors, characterized by originals VR architectures.

Abstract
In the present work authors relate a methodology developed to execute maintainability tests of complex assemblies in Virtual Reality. Different approaches have been analyzed, described and compared in the paper. The main goal of the work was to draw up a methodical approach in order to perform disassembly, accessibility and manipulability analyses in semi-immersive virtual environment of complex mechanical systems. The method is based on a direct manual interaction: user in charge of the maintenance task can interact directly with the virtual model of the product by means of special devices. The tests were carried out in three complete Virtual Reality environments, realized by the authors, characterized by originals VR architectures.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
