This work focuses on the communication strategies implemented by the European Commission in the aftermath of the referendum failures in France and the Netherlands (2005). Following a critical and interdisciplinary approach to discourse analysis, the work frames the strategy in its political context and then tries to investigate the micro-textual variables that subsume the attempt to restructure participants’ identities (institutions, European workers and social players), their roles and functions.
