La Qualità delle Acque Marine delle Isole del Golfo di Napoli

The results of a monitoring program aimed at recognizing the global quality level of Italian coastal waters having a well defined vocation far recreational use, are presented. Chemical physical and biological parameters are considered, among those prescribed in Italian regulation and others able to give a more complete information concerning the condition of the marine environment. Due to the large number of obtained data, they are presented using a statistical approach. The principal component analysis is used to identify how different water characteristics change in relation to each other, or how they are associated.
