Diffusional exchange between water column and sediments layer could greatly affect the resulting toxic concentrations. Thus, modeling the diffusive flux of contaminants can be of paramount importance in water quality studies. The paper applies some recent experimental results to derive the thickness of diffusional sublayer at sediment-water interface; predicted values are then applied to a real case using WASP5 water quality model.

Abstract
Diffusional exchange between water column and sediments layer could greatly affect the resulting toxic concentrations. Thus, modeling the diffusive flux of contaminants can be of paramount importance in water quality studies. The paper applies some recent experimental results to derive the thickness of diffusional sublayer at sediment-water interface; predicted values are then applied to a real case using WASP5 water quality model.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
