The present paper focalize the attention on the animal production activity of the Italian protected areeas. Farmers and breeders that live in the park areas cannot use either the natural resources in an indiscriminate way either the intensive breeding.The analysis of the classic livestock systems and of the agricultural activity present in the Italian national parks showed their multifactorial role indispensable in exploiting and keeping the natural resources.
