The whole of regulations for the microclimate evaluation is related to the formulation of more rational methods for the evaluation of the thermal responses of people. The goal of this paper is giving an in-depth overview on the thermal environment regulations actually in force and, on the other hand, taking stock of the situation about those in preparation or very recently reviewed (i.e. ISO 7730 for the thermal comfort assessment). In both cases a special care to the numerical details related to the assessment procedure which very often requires the use of a special software has been devoted.
