A new synthesis technique for wideband contoured beam reflectarray antenna is presented. Constraints on the frequency behaviour of the antenna on a prescribed frequency band are enforced and a phase only synthesis approach is adopted. The performances of the presented technique are shown by a wide numerical analysis. The comparison with a standard single frequency synthesis algorithm and with an approach based on the compensation of the frequency dispersion of the optical path is also performed.
