The aim of the study was to evaluate the ability of different snake-venom polypeptides to inhibit pplatelet aggregation in human, bovine and buffalo plasma. The results showed that these proteins ihibited platelet aggregation from all the three species. The results suggest that buffalo platelets receptor GPIIb/IIIa appears to exibit structural and functional analogies with the integrin receptor of bovine platelets as concerning its binding site for RGD- polypeptides.

Abstract
The aim of the study was to evaluate the ability of different snake-venom polypeptides to inhibit pplatelet aggregation in human, bovine and buffalo plasma. The results showed that these proteins ihibited platelet aggregation from all the three species. The results suggest that buffalo platelets receptor GPIIb/IIIa appears to exibit structural and functional analogies with the integrin receptor of bovine platelets as concerning its binding site for RGD- polypeptides.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
