The main aim of our efforts consisted in the designing of a “general purpose robot”, having precision and accuracy as good as those actually employed in the industrial applications, that could be produced and sold at a much lower price. Particular attention was given to the mechanical structure to reduce its constructive complexity and consequently its costs. Both static and dynamic behaviors of the robot structure have been tested by means of ADAMS and ANSYS codes.

Abstract
The design of a low cost industrial robot, having 5 revolute axes, developed at D.I.M.E. Università degli Studi di Napoli - ‘Federico II’ and whose prototype is under construction by a factory that is evaluating the possibility to produce a certain amount of it, is presented in this paper. Both static and dynamic behaviors of the robot structure have been tested by means of ADAMS and ANSYS codes.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
