R&D performed in the framework of the Italian RELUIS consortium: activities and results achieved

A 3-years research project on Earthquake Engineering has been launched in Italy in 2005. It is funded by the National Department of Civil Protection, with the aim of improving the knowledge and providing high quality products of immediate use for seismic risk reduction (pre-normative documents, norm proposals, guidelines, databases, etc.). This project involves 40 Italian universities and research institutions and is the biggest one there has ever been in Italy. It deals with ten different subjects, one of them concerning “Technologies for the Seismic Isolation and Control of Structures and Infrastructures” (Research line No. 7). In this paper the research program of line No. 7 and the activities in progress are summarised.
