The significance of net scantling approach for the assessment of midship section moduli is examined in light of the statistical properties of section moduli, evaluated according to a purposely developed procedure and the corrosion wasrage model proposed by Paik et al. for oil tanker structures. In particular, the calculations have been performed for a Floating Storage Offloading unit, for which relevant geometrical data were available as well as a significant set of gauged thicknesses.

Abstract
The significance of net scantling approach for the assessment of midship section moduli is examined in light of the statistical properties of section moduli, evaluated according to a purposely developed procedure and the corrosion wasrage model proposed by Paik et al. for oil tanker structures. In particular, the calculations have been performed for a Floating Storage Offloading unit, for which relevant geometrical data were available as well as a significant set of gauged thicknesses.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
