In this paper a multibody calculation methodology has been applied to the vibration analysis of a 4-cylinder 4-stroke diesel power plant supercharged; then a numerical-experimental correlation of results has been performed. The influence of crankshaft torsional and bending frequencies on the rotational speed behaviour and on engine support brackets vibration has been evaluated in order to reduce vibration phenomena and, therefore, noise transmission into car. The analysis was conducted using a multibody model created with the software AVL/EXCITE. Further validation through experimental acquisitions has been carried out, obtaining good results for the more interesting parameters, such as the irregular motion.
