The objective of this study is to present a spatial simulation modelling of real estate effects caused by urban transformations. The proposed approach extends the formalization of the “Monte Carlo” simulation methods in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), including spatial structure and temporal dynamics. The combined application can be useful in spatial decision making process for urban planning, supporting and modelling operations for urban land-use change. Analysing the new functions for the redevelopment of Castel Capuano, an historic building in Naples (Italy), the paper explores possible scenarios of transformations identifying the effects on the urban real estate market.

Abstract
The objective of this study is to present a spatial simulation modelling of real estate effects caused by urban transformations. The proposed approach extends the formalization of the “Monte Carlo” simulation methods in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), including spatial structure and temporal dynamics. The combined application can be useful in spatial decision making process for urban planning, supporting and modelling operations for urban land-use change. Analysing the new functions for the redevelopment of Castel Capuano, an historic building in Naples (Italy), the paper explores possible scenarios of transformations identifying the effects on the urban real estate market.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
