Final definitions of Case Codes and Outcome Rates for Istat Cati Surveys

The present paper shows a proposal for defining final disposition codes and calculating call outcome rates in ISTAT computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) according to AAPOR Standard Definitions. For the Survey on Citizens’ Safety (2002) we propose to define final disposition codes and calculating call outcome rates for easily monitoring the process of computerassisted telephone interviewing and incorporate the definitions and formula in our software reports. This application offers a process automation capability that uses metadata to navigate and query warehouse system, with the purpose to minimise times and costs of the information acquisition and processing, and to ensure a higher level of correctness and quality of the results.
