Professionals in politics. Clientelism and networks

Convinced as I am that it is the chain of constantly changing relations and interdependencies that shapes different patterns, and therefore different groups and parties, and that is the interweaving of reciprocal relationship which generates social organizations, I intend to describe the careers of certain invidual members of the professions in order to shed light on the political forms that they engendered. The aim of this biographical approach is to reconstruct the political settings and contexts of these professionals, thereby recreating a political era and the groups that typified it. Thus individual history has been chosen as providing access to relations and as yielding, a more finely drawn picture than that resulting from an objectifying interpretation.
