In the paper an analytical model based on measurement indexes is developed to assure the property of reliability of a web server's network. The proposed approach, making use of a fault tolerant technique, allows data transmission optimization in dispatching process. Simulations, representative of different operative conditions of network, evaluated through the measurement indexes used, have been carried out. Experimental results have been achieved applying the proposed algorithm to a real system, consisting of a web servers system controlling measurement instrumentation to perform a wide variety of measurement experiments and deliver the results. © 2005 IEEE.
