Previous studies, carried out on conventional and unconventional interceptors fixed on ideal (prismatic) hulls, verified that is possible to achieve reductions of resistance up to 20%. The aim of this study is to evaluate how the implementation of the interceptor to real cases leads to significant changes of the performances experimentally observed on models of simple form. To achieve this task, this study examined three aspects: the influence of the hull form, the effectiveness of the interceptor in waves and scale effects on ship-model correlation. For the evaluation of the scale effects, in addition to the experimental studies, a CFD code has been used. In particular a 3D flow on a prismatic hull has been analyzed to evaluate lift, and wave path geometry in model and full scales

Abstract
In particular a 3D flow on a prismatic hull has been analyzed to evaluate lift, and wave path geometry in model and full scalesI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
