The paper reports a case history in Naples urban area, where a recreation and sport infrastructure has been settled on a very steep slope, inside a strongly urbanized district. Geotechnical works consisted of excavation of a high scarp (reinforced with nails) and of construction on it of an earth embankment (reinforced with geogrids). Some geotechnical problems were born for the particular location of the site, whose solution is presented in the present paper, thinking it could be useful for technicians operating in similar conditions
