This paper presents an experimental campaign on the pressure field assessment in nine points of the monohedral hard chine planing hull bottom. Tests are performed at four velocities and two wave lengths. Results analysis in time and frequency domain is given, identifying the pressure distribution along the bottom panel. Comparison of measured and normative values has been performed and pressure results have been used to investigate fluid-structure interaction. For determined pressure acting on the bottom panel, the scantling of bottom panel made from four materials have been investigated, identifying the natural frequencies of the system.
