In the framework of the Smart Energy Master (SEM) project, carried out by the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering (DICEA) in collaboration with four partners from industry, guidelines were drawn up "to promote behaviour and lifestyles aiming to reduce energy consumption in the urban environment". Such guidelines provide general orientation for improving energy efficiency and reducing resource consumption in urban contexts. The study, carried out in a context of networking and sharing research processes, specifically aims to give useful indications for a psycho-social change in local communities with the ultimate objective of the system's environmental health. The purpose is to offer a theoretical and methodological frame of reference to promote ecologically sustainable behaviour and lifestyles of citizens in Europe's smart cities of the future.
