Preliminary results on azo-dyes conversion by means of Pseudomonas stutzeri OX1 are reported. Conversion was carried out in both gas-sparged flasks and in internal loop airlift reactors under controlled operating conditions. Acid orange 7, a monoazo-sulphonic dye, was tested at concentrations up to 0.8 g/L. Luria-Bertani or synthetic culture media were used. Azo-dye conversion per unit cellular mass increases with specific dye concentration up to 90 mgdye/gDM. A Michealis-Menten-like kinetic equation was effectively used to fit the observed conversion rate.

Abstract
Preliminary results on azo-dyes conversion by means of Pseudomonas stutzeri OX1 are reported. Conversion was carried out in both gas-sparged flasks and in internal loop airlift reactors under controlled operating conditions. Acid orange 7, a monoazo-sulphonic dye, was tested at concentrations up to 0.8 g/L. Luria-Bertani or synthetic culture media were used. Azo-dye conversion per unit cellular mass increases with specific dye concentration up to 90 mgdye/gDM. A Michealis-Menten-like kinetic equation was effectively used to fit the observed conversion rate.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
