In this paper I deal with the question of mimesis and its configuration in the Politicus. The question of mimesis regards the Platonic mimetic art, that is the visual writing with which Plato shapes the dialogue. I will try to identify the purpose of this visual writing in the Author’s will to make the characters who speak and especially the argument about which they speak visible to the readers. I would like to argue that the mimetical writing has the goal to get the reader involved in the discussion set up in the text. Then I will analyse the development of the use of the concept of mimesis in the Stranger’s speech that aims at designing the figure of the statesman, by showing once again as it is possible to look at that unity of form and content that characterizes Plato’s dialogues.
