We describe the development of a parallel version of an industrial application code, used to simulate the propagation of optical beams inside diodes pumped rod lasers. The parallel version makes an intensive use of a 2D FFT routine from a general-purpose parallel numerical library, the PINEAPL Library, developed within an ESPRIT project. We discuss some issues related to the integration of the library routine into the application code and report first performance results.

Abstract
We describe the development of a parallel version of an industrial application code, used to simulate the propagation of optical beams inside diodes pumped rod lasers. The parallel version makes an intensive use of a 2D FFT routine from a general-purpose parallel numerical library, the PINEAPL Library, developed within an ESPRIT project. We discuss some issues related to the integration of the library routine into the application code and report first performance results.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
