The paper aims to examine the connections between textile waste management and the new kinds of goods enjoyment in the sharing economy. The article analyses some of the main digital platforms that operate in the fashion renting sector, both by mediating between private individuals and by establishing relationships between professionals and consumers, to give a new life to clothing items characterized by the so-called idling capacity. In this regard, the positive effects of sharing on the textile industry’s environmental impact are emphasized while proposing a valorization of waste as a resource or productive asset, capable of diversifying its function thanks to the technological tools currently available in society.
