Abstract

Analytical modeling of certain types of structures where some unilateral constraints hold because of the mechanical properties of the material or other type of heterogeneous mechanical characteristics require the setup of quite complex mathematical problems, where all the features of the problem are properly embedded. The treatment, in these case, is not at all trivial and ad-hoc procedures are required to be developed for handling the case and allowing the identification of the solution. In the paper, the problem is deepened, presenting the setup of an analytical formulation based on a minimization pattern and on the suitable identification of the objective functional through a number of developments.
