Augmented-reality robot-assisted radical prostatectomy is a relatively new surgical techniquethat combines the use of advanced imaging technology and robotics to treat prostate cancer. The surgeon uses a highresolution camera and a computerized system to create a 3D image of the prostate and surrounding tissues. This image is then overlaid on the surgeon’s field of view using augmented reality technology, providing real-time visual guidance during the surgery. The aim of the work was to evaluate the improvement of nerve sparing prostatectomy with the aid of augmented reality.
