The rapid urbanization and associated challenges necessitate the development of smart cities that leverage intelligent technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced telecommunications, to drive urban progress. In this paper the author describes one of the possible developments of his PhD research, the study aims to propose a framework for integrating AI and advanced telecommunications into smart city infrastructure to enhance urban services, optimize decision-making processes, and improve the overall quality of life. By examining the benefits, challenges, and future prospects, this research provides insights into the potential of intelligent technologies in shaping the cities of tomorrow. Ultimately, this paper contributes to the understanding of how AI and advanced telecommunications can drive urban progress and foster the sustainable evolution of smart cities.
