This study focuses on understanding how behavioral factors influence sustainable policies at the academic level. It extends the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) by incorporating awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and investigates the psychological factors that affect the decision-making process of academic unit heads in European countries. The study also explores the moderating effect of economic barriers on the relationship between intention and positive behavior. Using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), the researchers find that subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and SDG awareness play significant roles in shaping sustainable activities in academia. However, moral attitudes do not have a significant influence on academic decisions. The study highlights the importance of economic barriers as they significantly moderate the relationship between intention and positive behavior. Overall, these findings emphasize the relevance of understanding behavioral factors in promoting sustainable policies in academic institutions.

Abstract
Overall, these findings emphasize the relevance of understanding behavioral factors in promoting sustainable policies in academic institutions.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
