Abstract

The rise of a narrative in architecture driven by visual stimuli, showcasing a growing pursuit of iconicity, leads to a necessary reevaluation of design teaching. This phenomenon is evident in the proliferation of photographic offices and online platforms that serve as visual atlases for global works, operating along with traditional magazines. The issue becomes more complex in the context of social net- works, where images lack scrutiny through critical lenses, extending to the latest creative and representative possibilities showcased by AI-driven software for the production of digital images. This paper aims to address some of the pressing subjects arising from this visually centered paradigm, highlighting the necessity for a discerning approach to architectural imageability1, which transcends the biases of images and the pursuit of iconic status.
