The EU's AI Act represents a significant step in regulating artificial intelligence, both in terms of human centered and prudential approach. We intend to investigate three issues: 1) Could high risk activities and their control raise concerns about the effectiveness of the regulation? 2) Could the lack of coordination between internal and EU authorities compromise the oversight on AI by generating a potential duplication of competencies and conflict of assessments? Special attention will be given to the legal and constitutional implications of AI intervention in judicial procedures. Here, doubts arise about the independence of the judiciary and the balance between human and machine process.

Abstract
The EU's AI Act represents a significant step in regulating artificial intelligence, both in terms of human centered and prudential approach. We intend to investigate three issues: 1) Could high risk activities and their control raise concerns about the effectiveness of the regulation? 2) Could the lack of coordination between internal and EU authorities compromise the oversight on AI by generating a potential duplication of competencies and conflict of assessments? Special attention will be given to the legal and constitutional implications of AI intervention in judicial procedures. Here, doubts arise about the independence of the judiciary and the balance between human and machine process.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
