The 2022 excavation campaign (July and September) investigated two areas of the necropolis of Sasso Pinzu- to in Tuscania, conventionally defined the northern area and the southern area. In the northern area – in the area of tumulus 1 – some fragments of mould-decorated architectural plaques belong to a building in the area. Then proceeded with the discovery of a second tumulus nearby (Tumulus 2), smaller than the first and par- tially collapsed on the eastern side (still to be investigated). In the southern area – a small plateau about 90 m from the northern area – four burial graves (nos. 126, 127, 128, 130) and two chamber tombs (125 and 129) have been excavated. The burial graves correspond to two types: a simple fossa (nos. 126 and 128), and a more complex profile of deeper level (nos. 123 and 130). The tomb 125, with dromos and vestibule and two chambers of coaxial type, yielded a bucchero symposium set (kyathoi, cups, chalices, kantharoi, oinochoe and a small jug). In the tomb 129, of cruciform type with dromos and vestibule, a group of iron objects was placed along the steps of the dromos and can be interpreted as a possible ritual offering perhaps following the reopening of the tomb. The funerary equipment consists of a group of Etruscan-Corinthian pottery (two amphorae, a figured alabastron and balsam flasks with linear decoration), bucchero pottery (kantharoi, cups, chalices, oinochoai and olpai). Imported materials included two trade amphoras from Samos and Chios and an Attic floral band cup which defines the chronology of the deposit no later than 530 BCE.

Abstract
Imported materials included two trade amphoras from Samos and Chios and an Attic floral band cup which defines the chronology of the deposit no later than 530 BCE.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
