Managing information of existing infrastructures is a significant challenge. Currently, comprehensive frameworks for effective information management are lacking. To address this critical need, our study recommends the adoption of Infrastructure-Building Information Modeling (I-BIM) to enhancing asset data management. This paper proposes a novel methodology, designed to integrate the maintenance and usage information of an infrastructure within its corresponding I-BIM model. We validate this approach through a real case study. Our research outcomes highlight the potential of a unified digital model, which incorporates all necessary information, thus promoting informed decision-making throughout the infrastructure's entire lifecycle.
