The INA-Casa plan was a social housing program meant, among other things, to resolve the Italian residential emergency after World War II. The aim was to give working citizens a healthy accommodation, and to construct new neighbourhoods according to sanitary regulations that were also formulated in the work-in-progress phase. Designers had to provide physical and mental wellness to the inhabitants on the basis of recommendations that influenced the research and legislation to come.
