Tourism Sustainability: A Statistical Study in Friuli Venezia Giulia Municipalities

The aim of this paper is to consider some indicators for the analysis of tourism in the region Friuli - Venezia Giulia and to summarized the information contained in these indices using a multivariate method: Principal Component Analysis. With this analysis we have taken into account the demand, the supply and the impact of the tourism sector on the environment of the municipalities of the region Friuli - Venezia Giulia. The analysis provides the level of “stress” of the territory, referring to predetermined territorial districts and to annual official data, and contributes to the assessment of tourist sustainability in the territory.
