The scroll containing the so-called De providentia of Philodemus (midollo PHerc. 1670) suffered «scorzatura parziale» and therefore a number of scorze are scattered through the collection, each possessing a different inventory number. Although some scorze that can be matched with PHerc. 1670 have already been identified (viz. PHerc. 1577/1579 and 1100), there may still be more to find. In this paper, I will examine PHerc. 1636: this scorza has interesting features, mainly its paleography and content, that support an attribution to the De providentia.
